Within a short drive of the house, you’ll find small independent domaines where you can meet local winegrowers, discover the vineyards and, of course, taste the wines.
Follow our local wine route
We’ve put together our own wine-tasting circuit from Le Clos de Leuc, taking you through the countryside surrounding Carcassonne and introducing you to some of our favourite nearby producers.
The route includes Domaine Saint Martin at Leuc, Château de Serres near Carcassonne, Domaine de Cabrol at Aragon and Domaine de La Périnade near Pezens.
Rather than visiting a large commercial attraction, this is an opportunity to discover the people, landscapes and traditions behind the wines of the Aude.
Things to look out for
Make a day of it
There’s no need to rush. Visit one or two domaines, stop for lunch, enjoy the scenery and perhaps combine your wine tasting with a visit to Carcassonne or a walk beside the Canal du Midi.
We’ll provide you with our wine-route map, addresses and contact details, and we’ll be happy to help you decide which vineyards would best suit you.
